Huge supports for OGD as NLC and Trade Union Leaders pledge loyalty

Gbenga-DanielFormer governor of Ogun State and leader of the Labour Party (LP) in the State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has said that the number of his supporters are growing by the day despite the fact that he is no longer in government.

Speaking at the 8th Annual Thanksgiving and interdenominational service held at the Abraham’s Tabernacle Church, Sagamu, Otunba Gbenga Daniel said those who are in his camp now far outnumbered those who left him after serving as governor.

As a sign that Otunba Daniel is still solidly on ground, serving leaders of two trade unions in the State, the Nigerian Labour Congress NLC  and the Trade Union Congress TUC openly came to pledge their loyalty and solidarity and presented him gifts as a worthy leader while the Christian. Council of Nigeria, Ogun State branch also made him its Grand Patron.

The trade unions’ gesture was commended and described by Otunba Gbenga Daniel who said the Union leaders who are still serving in the government of Senator Ibikunle Amosun, exhibited great courage to have come out to describe him as a rare gem “Even when I am no longer in government”.

Otunba Gbenga Daniel equally appreciated the mass participation of Ogun journalists at a special skill sharpening session organised by the Political Academy POLA, which he founded. “About 60 media practitioners in Ogun attended the session with the theme “Proper Information Dissemination as a Tool for Political Development” with Mr. Femi Adesina, the Managing Director of Sun Publishing Company and the President, Nigerian Guild of Editors as the Guest Speaker. The journalists also worshipped at the Abraham Tabernacle in Sagamu on Sunday.

In her goodwill message, the matriarch of the Awolowo dynasty,  Chief (Mrs) H I D Awolowo who was represented by Hon. Isaac Omosanya Solaja, commended Otunba Gbenga Daniel for all his efforts and for exhibiting his love for God.

She called on Nigerians to pray for peace in the country while they must also humble themselves to be ale to see the face of the Lord.
