The Atlas Lions of Morocco, Nigeria’s opponent in the quarter final of the on-going CHAN tournament for players based in their domestic leagues said they are ready to confront Nigeria without any doubts in their minds that they set for battle.
The Moroccan team silenced Uganda Cranes 3-1 on Monday at the Cape Town Stadium to book a place against Stephen Keshi’s Super Eagles who also made sure hosts South Africa did not make it to the last eight.
“We started the 2014 Africa Nations Championship poorly with two draws, but have picked up our momentum at the right time and we are looking forward to the quarterfinal stage now,” added the former International Benabicha.
He said although the Super Eagles play good football, his team would be at it’s best in the quarter final clash. “We know what to expect against Nigeria, but are going to use the four free days to prepare well in all aspects ahead of the game,” Benabicha told MTNFootball.com.
The coach said although his team had continued to create many scoring chances but taking few, he would work a lot on the attack to get sharper and sharper since the tournament had got to the knock out stage.
Morocco’s four scorers in the Group stage include Abdessad Rafik, Lajour Mouhssine, Abdelkbir El Ouadi and Brahim El Bahri.
