Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, has declared that the motive behind his second term ambition is the interest he has in the people of the state, saying if not for the people, he will not be seeking to return to office.
Aregbesola, in a chat with newsmen in Osogbo, stated that before he assumed office, he had planed to run a people-oriented government that would make life abundant for the people of the state.
He noted that the achievements recorded by his administration in the last three years of his government had not been recorded in the state since its creation in 1991.
He said: “We have done what most people claimed has never been done in the history of the state, we are so people-centered that it will be difficult for us to abandon the people mid stream.
“The best way to pursue our objectives about governance is to run the whole hub of the mandate provided by the constitution that will give us enough time to meet all our aspirations for the people. It is in the interest of the people that we are seeking re- election.”
Aregbesola averred that the current system of government in the country was wasteful, stressing that no serious developing nation should consider it as its own system of government.
