Crisis: 10 Injured, Vehicles Damaged During Sallah Fracas


Lagos State police command has arrested not fewer than two suspects who engaged in violence that led to the injuring of 10 people and damaging of three vehicles in Ajegunle area of the metropolis, on Sallah Day.

It was gathered that two gangs engaged themselves in battle leading to the injuring of several people including innocent ones.

The fight which began on Saturday evening lasted for some minutes because the divisional police officer of Ajegunle police station, CSP Abayomi Agbana was alerted and he led a team of policemen to Bale Aiyetoro street where the incident took place.

The police operatives arrested three persons during the operation. The gangs were armed with cutlasses, iron rods and other dangerous weapons.

While the fight was going on some of the members of the gang robbed innocent passersby and looted shops too.

Hoodlums were said to have inflicted matchet cut across the face of a man suspected to have shattered the windscreen of a car.

Three vehicles were said to have been damaged at Bale Aiyetoro street.

An eye witness and victim, Uzodinma said some group of boys armed with cutlasses and other dangerous weapons rounded him up and stole his two mobile phones and N15,600 he had on him.
