Eid-el-Kabir: Travel ban extended- Army

The Nigerian military has extended the travel ban imposed on Borno and Yobe states in northeastern Nigeria.

The military on Friday placed a ban on vehicular movement in Borno and Yobe states to guard against any attacks from Islamist sect, Boko Haram during Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The decision had been taken there following indications that Boko Haram may want to launch multiple bomb explosions in Maiduguri metropolis and other major towns across Borno State during the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations.

In a statement, the army has now extended the embargo till 7.00am (0600 GMT) on Tuesday, 7th October, 2014.
