Ex-Gov. Daniel Sues for Peace at Independence

Former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has urged Nigerians to continue to pray for peace and stability in order to achieve the lofty ideas of our founding fathers who advocated a united, peaceful and  prosperous nation at the time of the country’s independence.
The former governor said this in his goodwill message on the occasion of Nigeria’s 54th independence anniversary.

Otunba Daniel also called on Nigerians to continue to support the nation’s leaders in the task of achieving a common prosperity. Nigeria, he said can only work when the leadership as well as followership discharge their civic duties and responsibility to the State by remaining resolute and committed to the country’s national values.

“All the challenges facing us as a nation are surmountable if we all put our differences behind us, come together and work for the progress of the country.”

Otunba Daniel however lamented the dwindling fortunes of Ogun State in the areas of economic development, education, health, sports, agriculture, rural development and security reiterating that the core mission of any administration was to overcome poverty and economically empower the people.

According to him, the celebration of independence is akin to life more abundant to the people hence all hands must be on deck to join forces together for a greater Ogun State irrespective of religion, ethnic and political inclination.
