The owner and Chairman of the Glo Premier League team, Giwa Football Club, Chris Giwa, has expressed disappointment over the sacking of Stephen Keshi as the coach of the Super Eagles. Keshi who was working as an interim coach without a fresh contract was asked to go by the Nigeria Football Federation on Thursday.
Giwa who is also staking claims as the truly elected president of the NFF made the remarks following had an emergency committee meeting he held with his members at the Bolingo Hotel Abuja also on Thursday. The Jos-based businessman has gone to a civil court to seek redress even though the world football ruling body, FIFA, CAF and the Federal Government of Nigeria has approved and recognised the Amaju Pinnick led NFF.
On Thursday, Giwa and his team condemned the sacking while insisting that, “Stephen Keshi remains the head coach of the senior national team and the technical crew remains intact.
They noted that there were two more games to be played against Congo Republic and South Africa ahead of Nigeria’s qualification for the African Nations Cup finals in 2015 in Morocco and therefore emphasis should be placed on the games rather than removing the coaching crew.
They asked Nigerians to also disregard all other appointments made by the Amaju-led board.
