The newly appointed gaffer of the Dream Team has said his side will be built round the 2013 victorious Golden Eaglets
Nigeria U-23 head coach Samson Siasia has revealed that he will be building his team round majority of the players that won the 2013 Fifa U-17 World Cup.
According to the former Super Eagles handler, players in the Nigeria Premier League will be given a look in when assembling his side.
“The team will certainly be built around most of the U-17 players that won the last World Cup especially somebody like Kelechi Iheancho,” Siasia told reporters.
“The truth is that the boy is good and has a the heart of a great player, so all we need do is to encourage him to excel.
“Also there will be a good representation of those playing their football here in Nigeria because those ones will be ready at all times to report for national duty but they must have to be quality players who can hold their own against any player from abroad.
“One good thing today is that our league is beginning to attract some quality players who are doing well in their various clubs. Even though such players are at home they are equally good and so must be encouraged by giving them the confidence they need to be at their best,” he concluded.
Siasia will be hoping to the country for the 2015 All Africa Games billed to take place in Brazzaville, Congo.
