Equity transaction on the floor of the Nigerian stock exchange Tuesday continue on a positive note following gains recorded by 21 companies led by GUINNESS , PZ and STANBIC.
The NSE All-Share Index appreciated by 105 points to close at 41,210.10 against the 40,105.38 achieved on Monday. Also, the market capitalisation, which opened at N13.572 trillion, rose by N35 billion to close higher at N13.607trillion.
GUINNESS topped the gainers’ chart, gaining N15.48 to close at N214.98 per share. PZ came second on the gainers’ chart with N2.01 to close at N35, while STANBIC rose by N1.6 to close at N33.6 per share.
UAC-PROP grew by N1.32 to close at N15.85, and OANDO gained N1.22 to close at N26.28 per share.
On the other hand, SEPLAT topped the losers’ chart, dropping 22 kobo to close at N645 per share. NESTLE followed with a loss of 10 kobo to close at N1090, while WAPCO dipped N1.89 to close at N126.76 per share.
GLAXOSMITH lost N1.39 to close at N62.61 and NB dipped by N1.26 to close at N176 per share.
In all, a total of 1.079 million shares valued at N8.084 billion, were exchanged in 4,894 deals,as against a turnover of 274.021 million shares, worth N4.739 billion, achieved in 4,567 deals on Monday
