Investors on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday staked N5.89 billion on 747.912 million shares in 3,817 deals.
The volume of transactions represents 97.99 per cent increase over the 377.737 million shares worth N4.104 billion traded in 4,408 deals on Wednesday.
Mansard Insurance emerged the most traded stock, accounting for 191.04 million shares valued at N573.07 million, transacted by investors in 25 deals .
ETI came second on the activity with 124.95 million shares worth N2.32 billion in 80 deals, while Wema Bank sold 94.13 million shares valued N86.63 million in 27 deals.
However, the NSE All-Share Index depreciated by 168.19 points or 0.44 per cent to close at 37,979.99 as against the 38,148.18 achieved on Wednesday.
Similarly, the market capitalisation dropped by N56 billion or 0.44 per cent to close lower at N12.579 trillion from the N12.635 trillion posted on Wednesday.
Seven Up led the losers’ chart by N15.52 to close at N173 per share. Lafarge Wapco trailed with a loss of N5.69 to close at N108.21, while Unilever dropped N3.90 to close at N36.10 per share.
CAP depreciated by N2.09 to close at N41.90 and PZ Cussons dipped N1.39 to close at N26.41 per share.
